Letterospective

Renowned Indian calligrapher and designer Achyut Palav is known for his exceptional work in Indian scripts especially Devnagari and Modi. In his career spanning four decades, he has successfully proved the immense potential of commercial application of his art and conducted numerous workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations in India and abroad.

‘Letterospective’ showcases his calligraphic journey from 1973 to 2019 through various paintings, compositions as well as many cherished photo memories. He calls it his transition from blackboards to canvases. He has illustrated the transformation of letters and manifestation of thoughts on paper using various tools, techniques and medium. The project was done in collaboration with my classmate and friend Saili Sawant.
